Police confirmed that no other vehicles were involved in the crash. Investigators are still working to identify who was driving the vehicle at the time of the accident. The Louisville Metro Police Traffic Unit is handling the ongoing investigation.

The crash also left three others injured: 6-year-old Brookes Vonnahme of Coon Rapids, 26-year-old Saul Huntley-Ayala, and 24-year-old Victor Santos, both of Ames, Iowa.

 

Investigators revealed that Leonard Lilyholm, driving a 2014 Volkswagen EOS, crossed the median and entered the northbound lane, where the vehicle collided head-on with a 2013 Chevy Silverado driven by Bradley Vonnahme.

 

The injured individuals were transported to Mercy One North Iowa Medical Center in Mason City with serious injuries. Emergency services from Forest City, Northwood, the Iowa DOT, Iowa DNR, and various local fire departments assisted at the scene.

 

The Iowa State Patrol continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the accident.

A GoFundMe page has been created to assist with funeral expenses, raising over $7,000 so far. Davis is currently held on charges of murder, attempted murder, and burglary, with his bond set at $2 million.
