A Wisconsin man, identified as 32-year-old Tyler Johnson from Salem, succumbed to blunt force injuries following a tragic incident on Saturday. Reports from Lake County Coroner Jennifer Banek confirmed Johnson’s death after he crashed a stolen Lexus GS400 into an SUV while attempting to evade police. The collision occurred when Johnson ran a red light at the intersection of Route 173 and Kilbourne Road in an unincorporated area near Zion.
The stolen vehicle collided with a GMC Yukon, resulting in injuries to eight individuals inside. Among them, a 51-year-old resident of Waukegan was critically injured and transported for medical treatment, with their current condition remaining uncertain. The remaining occupants, including a 30-year-old driver from Waukegan and passengers ranging in age from 8 to 28 years old, sustained non-life-threatening injuries, according to authorities.
