Authorities have confirmed the identity of the man who was killed by police following a prolonged standoff in Kensington, New Hampshire.
The deceased has been identified as 29-year-old Anthony Previte from Kensington. The medical examiner reported that Previte died from gunshot wounds to the chest and head, ruling the death a homicide.
Earlier on Monday, Kensington police responded to a report of a person threatening someone with criminal intent at a residence on Olivia Lane around noon.
The situation escalated, and just after 10:30 p.m., Previte exited the home armed, prompting six officers to discharge their firearms. Additionally, one officer used less-lethal ammunition during the confrontation.
The names of the officers involved in the fatal shooting will remain confidential until formal interviews are conducted, which are anticipated to occur within the next five to ten days, according to the attorney general’s office.
