Fatal Mercer County crash death of Daniel Johnson – Obituary

Daniel Johnson, a 27-year-old from Jackson Center, tragically lost his life in a car accident on State Route 62 in Mercer County. The crash occurred around 6:30 p.m. near the Pennsylvania State Police barracks when Johnson and another individual stopped to clear a deer carcass from the roadway.

As they attempted to remove the obstruction, a vehicle traveling in the opposite direction struck both pedestrians. Johnson was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other individual sustained severe injuries and was airlifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.

State Route 62 remained closed as Pennsylvania State Police and forensic experts conducted a thorough investigation into the incident.
