Authorities were summoned to the Oasis at Montclair Apartment Complex on Stedham Circle in Dumfries shortly before 7 p.m. on Saturday, July 20, to investigate a hit-and-run incident.
On July 27, officials announced that the suspect, McBride, had been apprehended.
Prince William County Police reported that 37-year-old Vasquez Galvan was approached by McBride while outside his gold Lexus SUV. During the confrontation, McBride entered the vehicle, began reversing, and Galvan attempted to hold on. McBride then crashed into an unoccupied car before driving forward, causing Galvan to be thrown and run over.
Galvan was immediately transported to a nearby hospital, but succumbed to his injuries, as confirmed by authorities on Monday afternoon. McBride fled the scene with the stolen SUV before police arrived.
On Tuesday morning, law enforcement discovered the stolen Lexus RX 300 in the 14900 block of Ashdale Circle in Woodbridge while responding to an unrelated incident. Surveillance footage captured images of the individual linked to the fatal event on Stedham Circle.
By late Friday night, McBride had been identified as the suspect. On Saturday, he was charged with felony murder, felony hit-and-run, and grand larceny auto. McBride is described as standing 5-foot-10, weighing 160 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
