Fatal Glacier National Park crash death of Lucius Clay Parker – Obituary
Glacier National Park has provided further details about the tragic accident earlier this week that resulted in the death of Lucius Clay Parker.
Parker, a 34-year-old from Ashford, WA, was originally from Mississippi and was residing in Washington for a seasonal job in St. Mary, MT at the time of the incident.
According to GNP, dispatch received a report of a rollover crash on Going-to-the-Sun Road, approximately 1.7 miles west of the St. Mary entrance, just before midnight on July 29th. Multiple law enforcement agencies, including the Glacier County Sheriff’s Office, Montana Highway Patrol, and Blackfeet Law Enforcement Services, responded to the scene.
They discovered Parker had been thrown from the vehicle and sustained severe head injuries. Due to adverse weather conditions, air ambulances were unable to operate. A Babb ambulance transported Parker, who was then met by a Browning ambulance that took him to Blackfeet Community Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The Montana Highway Patrol is leading the investigation into the accident’s cause.
Glacier National Park extended their deepest sympathies to Parker’s family and friends in their statement.
