**Fatal Colorado Springs shooting death of Vidal Vigil – Obituary
On August 26, 2024, Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) officers responded to a single-car crash in the 4200 block of N. Chestnut St. Upon arrival, they found 24-year-old Vidal Vigil inside the vehicle, suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Tragically, Vigil was pronounced dead at the scene.
The El Paso County Coroner’s Office conducted an autopsy on August 27, 2024, confirming Vigil’s identity and launching a homicide investigation. This incident marks the 30th homicide in Colorado Springs this year, a significant increase from 21 homicides by this time last year.
