James “Ed” Garvin dies in fatal Ravenel car crash
Fatal Ravenel car crash claims the life of 81-year-old James “Ed” Garvin – Obituary
Charleston County Coroner Bobbi Jo O’Neal has confirmed that James “Ed” Garvin, an 81-year-old resident of Adams Run, lost his life in a single-vehicle accident in Ravenel on Thursday, September 12. The crash occurred around 3 p.m. near the intersection of Savannah Highway and Bay Pond Road.
Authorities believe Garvin’s vehicle was heading northbound on Savannah Highway when it veered across the median into oncoming traffic, eventually hitting a ditch and overturning. Garvin was ejected from the vehicle and tragically died at the scene.
The Charleston County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
