Jason A. Simon dies in fatal Schenectady motorcycle crash
Fatal Schenectady motorcycle crash claims the life of Jason A. Simon – Obituary.
A tragic crash on Thursday evening in Schenectady has claimed the life of 28-year-old Jason A. Simon, a resident of Schenectady. The collision, involving Simon’s motorcycle and a car, occurred near Brandywine Avenue and Stanford Street around 6:30 p.m., according to police reports.
Emergency responders from the Schenectady Fire Department arrived quickly and administered care at the scene before Simon was transported to a nearby hospital. Sadly, despite their efforts, he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
The driver of the car involved in the incident remained at the scene and has been cooperating with authorities. After an initial investigation, it was determined that the crash occurred when Simon failed to stop at a stop sign, giving the other driver the right of way. No criminal charges have been filed against the car’s driver, as they were driving within the legal speed limit, police said.
The Schenectady Police Department, along with the Crime Scene Unit and the Schenectady County Crash Reconstruction team, is continuing the investigation.
