State police have identified Timothy I. Montague, 36, and Lori Lynn Botero, 34, both from New London, as the victims of a tragic accident on I-95 in Groton. The incident occurred on Friday night when their Dodge Ram pickup truck collided with a guardrail and a tree, subsequently catching fire.
The crash happened around 9:20 p.m. as the truck was exiting the interstate. Both Montague and Botero perished at the scene. The investigation into the accident is ongoing, and authorities are asking witnesses or anyone with information to contact Trooper Timothy Wengloski at 860-848-6500, ext. 5.
