Fatal Groton crash death of Timothy Montague and Lori-Lynn Botero – Obituary
State police reported that a truck was exiting the highway last Friday when it collided and erupted in flames. The incident occurred around 9:20 p.m. on I-95 northbound near exit 87. The pickup truck veered off the road, struck a guardrail, and crashed into a tree, which led to the vehicle catching fire.
The driver, Timothy Montague, 36, from New London, and his passenger, Lori-Lynn Botero, 34, from Groton, both sustained fatal injuries. Emergency responders declared them dead at the scene. The highway was closed for several hours following the crash.
State police are continuing their investigation and are urging anyone with additional information to reach out to Trooper Timothy Wengloski at 860-848-6500 ext. 5. A GoFundMe page has been set up to assist Botero’s family.
