Fatal Long Branch shooting death of James Hailey – Obituary.
Authorities have confirmed that a man from Newark, identified as 43-year-old James Hailey, was shot and killed at the New Jersey Transit station in Long Branch. According to a spokesperson for the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office, the incident occurred on the evening of August 26. Long Branch police arrived at the train station platform shortly after 7:39 p.m.
Upon arrival, officers discovered Hailey and immediately transported him to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 8:34 p.m.
The exact circumstances leading to the shooting remain unclear, and NJ Transit reported that there were no delays at the station following the incident.
