In a tragic incident in Napa, 54-year-old attorney Ralph Andino III was shot and killed along with his client, 38-year-old Georgina Padilla. The shooting occurred at the Napa Park Homes apartments on Thursday morning, allegedly involving a man who later turned the gun on himself but survived.
Friends and family shared memories of Andino, describing him as a compassionate lawyer who often went above and beyond for his clients. His wife mentioned that he was at the apartments to assist Padilla, who had been in ongoing disputes with her partner, as reported by neighbors.
Former client Marilyn Gomes emphasized Andino’s dedication to helping others, recalling his willingness to provide legal advice without charge. “He was very caring,” Gomes said. “He genuinely cared about everyone and wasn’t motivated by money.”
As the community mourns, flowers and balloons have been placed outside the apartment where the shooting took place. Neighbor Zayra Navarrate expressed her shock over the incident, calling it a “tragic” event.
The Napa police later identified the alleged shooter as Baltazar Rangel Juarez, who reportedly shot himself following a lengthy standoff at Kennedy Park. He was taken to the hospital, although his current condition remains unclear.
Gomes added, “He should face justice for his actions. It would be too easy if he died. He must be held accountable for what he did.”
