Fatal Yakima domestic violence incident death of Dominique Mitchell – Obituary
Dominique Mitchell, 43, was tragically killed in a domestic violence incident in Yakima, where he and 47-year-old Andrea Alcazar reportedly shot each other during a confrontation on Saturday. Autopsies revealed that both individuals suffered fatal gunshot wounds to the torso, with the shots being fired by one another, as confirmed by Yakima County Chief Deputy Coroner Marshall Slight.
Yakima police arrived at the scene on Prospect Way after receiving a domestic violence report and found both victims with serious injuries. Mitchell was pronounced dead at the location despite attempts to revive him, while Alcazar, also known as Andrea Jasso, succumbed to her injuries later at MultiCare Yakima Memorial Hospital. The police had initially misreported her transfer to another medical facility.
These deaths have contributed to an increase in the homicide count in Yakima, which now stands at 11 for the year, and 19 across Yakima County. To commemorate the lives lost, the Yakima Association of Faith Communities is organizing a Moment of Blessing at the intersection of Prospect Way and North 66th Avenue on Wednesday at noon, aimed at fostering peace and healing in the community.
