The Berkshire District Attorney’s Office has confirmed the identity of a 72-year-old man who was killed in a hit-and-run incident in Stockbridge, Massachusetts, over the weekend. Franklin Ripley was discovered early Saturday morning on the side of Route 102 by a passing motorist around 6:44 a.m. Emergency responders pronounced him dead at the scene. According to officials, evidence from the incident indicates that Ripley was riding an electric scooter when he was struck by a vehicle whose driver subsequently fled the scene. Parts of the vehicle were recovered, but no arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.
