Jonathan Bizilia, a 27-year-old man from Alabama, tragically lost his life while base jumping near Willard Peak on September 27. The incident unfolded around 2 p.m. when a friend reported that Bizilia had not provided an expected update following his jump.
The Weber County Sheriff’s Office was alerted, leading to a search operation involving helicopters. With the friend offering essential details about possible jump sites and flight paths, a coordinated search ensued.
Nearly two hours after the initial report, a Department of Public Safety helicopter located Bizilia’s body approximately one mile northwest of Willard Peak in extremely rugged terrain. Authorities confirmed that he had crashed and died from his injuries.
