The investigation into the death of 69-year-old William Nicholas Abraham from Baton Rouge is underway following the discovery of his body wrapped in a tarp along Highway 51 in northern Tangipahoa Parish on Sunday morning. An autopsy revealed that he died from blunt force trauma.
Abraham, known to his family as “Nicky,” was a well-regarded figure in Baton Rouge, where he previously appeared on WBRZ’s “Weekends with Whitney.” He served as a Catholic priest for 14 years before becoming a therapist. His brothers, Tommy and Joseph Abraham, expressed their shock and grief over the loss, emphasizing that no one has the right to take a life.
The family is left searching for answers to their numerous questions regarding the circumstances of his death. Investigators are currently focused on determining the motive behind the incident. Prior court records indicate that Abraham had faced an accusation in 2015 involving inappropriate conduct during a therapy session, but he was never charged.
Tangipahoa Sheriff Gerald Sticker acknowledged being aware of this past allegation but is concentrating on where the murder occurred. Law enforcement is utilizing various investigative methods, including cell phone data and license plate recognition, to gather information.
As part of the ongoing investigation, the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office has released images of a person of interest believed to be connected to the case. They are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying this individual, who was last seen driving Abraham’s vehicle in Baton Rouge. The vehicle was located following a traffic stop in which the driver fled the scene.
