Charles Resh dies in fatal Orland vehicle crash
Fatal Orland vehicle crash death of Charles Resh – Obituary.
The Hancock County Sheriff’s Office has identified a flagger, Charles Resh, age 24 from Searsport, who was tragically struck by a vehicle while managing traffic on Acadia Highway in Orland. The incident occurred shortly before 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday. Resh was on duty in a construction zone, directing eastbound traffic to utilize the westbound lane due to paving work in the eastbound lane when he was hit.
The vehicle involved in the accident was a black Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck driven by Clint Clagett, 70, from Bucksport. The impact caused significant damage to the front of Clagett’s truck, but he was unharmed.
Emergency responders from the Orland Fire Department arrived at the scene following reports of a serious crash involving a pedestrian. Because LifeFlight was unavailable, they rerouted traffic at the intersection of Acadia Highway and Surry Road while rescue efforts were underway.
