Gary Porter dies in fatal incident at Dunmore Elementary School

An 81-year-old man, identified as Gary Porter, was found deceased in Dunmore Elementary School. The Lackawanna County Coroner, Timothy Rowland, confirmed that Porter, who was a contracted custodial worker, was discovered on Tuesday night.
Porter was a resident of Dunmore, and news of his passing quickly spread through the close-knit community. He was found at the school located at 300 W. Warren St., just one day before students were scheduled to return for the school year.
The Dunmore Police and the Lackawanna County District Attorney’s Office have stated that the investigation is ongoing and will provide further updates as they become available.
