Fatal Hideout homicide results in the death of Patrick L. Hayes – Obituary.
The Wasatch County Sheriff’s Office has identified the victim found deceased under suspicious circumstances near the Ross Creek Trailhead, north of Jordanelle Reservoir, as 61-year-old Patrick L. Hayes from Hideout, Utah. Following an autopsy, the State Medical Examiner’s Office determined that Hayes died from homicide, having been shot at the scene.
Authorities received a report of a deceased individual at approximately 11 a.m. on September 26. Upon arrival, deputies discovered Hayes lying outside his vehicle on the freeway shoulder. The investigation suggests that his death may be connected to a possible road rage incident that occurred around 11 p.m. the previous night, September 25.
Investigators are currently searching for a second vehicle involved in the incident, described as a Jeep Gladiator or Jeep Rubicon with potential front-end damage. The sheriff’s office has urged the occupants of this vehicle to come forward.
Officials confirmed that there is no ongoing threat to the public and have asked anyone with information regarding this case to contact the sheriff’s office at 435-654-1411.
