Spencer Alec Gatewood dies in fatal Labette County car crash
Fatal Labette County car crash death of Spencer Alec Gatewood – Obituary.
On October 5, 2024, Spencer Alec Gatewood, a 30-year-old resident of Altamont, Kansas, was involved in a fatal car accident in Labette County. The crash occurred around 3:40 a.m. when Gatewood was driving eastbound on 24000 Road, approximately 0.4 miles east of Jackson Road and 2.5 miles west of Parsons. He lost control of his 2019 Hyundai Elantra while trying to navigate a curve, causing the vehicle to veer into the south ditch and overturn into a pond.
Gatewood was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and tragically succumbed to his injuries. He was pronounced dead and transported to Frontier Forensics. Hamilton Towing removed the vehicle from the scene.
The authorities confirmed that Gatewood’s next of kin was notified of the tragic accident later that day.
