Fatal Austin shooting death of Travis Holland – Obituary
A deadly shooting took place in north Austin overnight Thursday into Friday, resulting in the death of 32-year-old Travis Holland. Austin Police Department officers were dispatched at approximately 12:45 a.m. Friday to the 8400 block of Goldfinch Court after receiving reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, they found Holland lying on the ground outside, suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 1:01 a.m.
Authorities have arrested 31-year-old William Bruce, who was detained at the scene. Bruce is facing a first-degree murder charge and was booked into the Travis County jail. According to the investigation, Holland was walking in the area when Bruce shot him from his porch. Homicide detectives and crime scene specialists are continuing their work on the case, with interviews and evidence collection ongoing.
