A tragic incident occurred in North Austin on August 4, 2024, when 49-year-old Sauvan Pham was fatally struck by a vehicle while walking along North Lamar Boulevard. The crash, which took place in the 10800 block, was reported to police around 2:08 a.m.
Pham was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver involved in the hit-and-run left immediately without offering assistance and fled north on North Lamar Boulevard in a dark-colored sedan.
Austin Police are seeking the public’s help in identifying the driver. This marks the 49th fatal crash in Austin for the year. Authorities are offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to an arrest.
