Fedor Lee Warren Lomax dies in fatal Pittsburg, Kansas shooting
Fatal Pittsburg, Kansas shooting death of Fedor Lee Warren Lomax – Obituary.
On the evening of Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at around 10:54 PM, law enforcement officers from the Pittsburg Police Department responded to a shooting incident at 1116 S. Elm Street, Apartment C.
Along with emergency responders from the Pittsburg Fire Department and Crawford County EMS, they arrived at the scene to find a male victim suffering from gunshot wounds inside the apartment.
The suspect had fled the area by the time officers arrived. The victim, identified as 29-year-old Fedor Lee Warren Lomax, was rushed to Mercy hospital but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.
Early in the investigation, authorities identified 25-year-old Kevin J. Hukill as the suspected shooter. This led law enforcement to a residence on the 300 block of East Park Street in Pittsburg. Despite unsuccessful attempts to contact the residents, police obtained a search warrant and entered the home.
A thorough search eventually located Hukill hiding in the attic. After negotiations with a Pittsburg Police negotiator, Hukill surrendered and was taken into custody at 5:33 AM on Thursday morning.
Hukill now faces charges of second-degree murder, felony interference with law enforcement, being a felon in possession of a firearm, and a felony arrest warrant for a prior drug-related offense. He is currently being held without bond at the Crawford County Jail, and he remains innocent until proven guilty in court.
