A tragic collision in Phoenix has left one man dead and another injured. The incident occurred around 2:45 p.m. on December 8, 2024, at the intersection of 7th Street and Deer Valley Road. Upon arrival, officers found Braiden Lawson, 34, lying on the roadway. He had been involved in a collision with a black Chevrolet Malibu.
According to the Phoenix Police Department, Lawson was traveling westbound on Deer Valley Road at high speed when he ran a red light, striking the Malibu as it was making a left turn to head eastbound. Lawson was rushed to the hospital but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries. The driver of the vehicle, who sustained non-life-threatening injuries, was also transported to the hospital.
Police continue to investigate the cause of the crash, processing evidence at the scene.
