Fatal Menifee shooting death of Storm Wolf – Obituary
Authorities have identified 38-year-old Storm Wolf of Temecula as the victim of a fatal shooting in Menifee early Saturday morning.
Menifee police responded to a report of gunfire at approximately 2:43 a.m. in the 25000 block of Mesa Edge Court. Upon arrival, officers discovered Wolf unresponsive inside a silver pickup truck stopped in the street. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detectives quickly identified 45-year-old Jose Velasquez, an acquaintance of Wolf from Menifee, as the primary suspect in her death. Velasquez had fled before officers arrived, prompting a multi-agency search.
Investigators tracked Velasquez to Santa Ana, where officers attempted to apprehend him, leading to a high-speed pursuit. The chase ended when Velasquez drove onto the Newport Beach Pier, coming to a stop at the pier’s end.
Eyewitnesses described the surreal scene as police followed Velasquez onto the pier. Visitors scrambled for safety as gunfire erupted. Authorities confirmed that Velasquez was shot and killed by police. No other injuries were reported.
The Santa Ana Police Department has urged any witnesses to contact the Orange County District Attorney’s Office as the investigation continues.
