Connor Hawkins, 26, of Meridian, lost his life in a three-vehicle crash on Monday. The accident occurred around 1 p.m. near the intersection of East Fairview Avenue and North Venture Street, according to the Meridian Police Department.
The Ada County Coroner’s Office reported that Hawkins was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:25 p.m. due to traumatic blunt force injuries. Authorities ruled his death as accidental.
Investigators say the crash happened when a driver exiting a Walmart parking lot made a wide turn, causing Hawkins to swerve and lose control of his motorcycle. His family has started a GoFundMe campaign to raise funds for funeral expenses and support his wife and two children.
Hawkins’ wife described him as “one of a kind” and urged drivers to stay alert for motorcyclists to prevent similar tragedies. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
