Fatal Winona County I-90 crash death of Warren R. Hacker and Hadley E. Thompson – Obituary
Warren R. Hacker, 70, of Appleton, Wisconsin, and Hadley E. Thompson, 83, of Pine Island, Minnesota, were both killed in a head-on collision Friday afternoon, May 16, on Interstate 90 in Winona County. The crash occurred around 3:30 p.m. near mile marker 244 in Fremont Township, located in the southeastern part of the state.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a Toyota Rav4 traveling eastbound and a Buick Enclave heading westbound collided directly. Warren Hacker, the driver of the Rav4, died in the crash, while his passenger, 71-year-old Patricia R. Hacker of Appleton, suffered critical injuries and was transported to St. Marys Hospital in Rochester.
The Buick Enclave was driven by Hadley Thompson, who also died at the scene.
Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
