Fatal McCreary County ATV crash death of Roger Dale Stanton – Obituary
Roger Dale Stanton, 74, of Parker’s Lake, Kentucky, was killed in a collision involving an all-terrain vehicle and an SUV on US 27 in McCreary County.
According to the McCreary County Coroner’s Office, the accident occurred around 2:20 p.m. on Wednesday when an SUV, after clipping another vehicle, traveled north for about a mile before side-swiping Stanton, who was riding a four-wheeler along the side of the road. The impact caused the SUV to flip into the woods, and Stanton was thrown into a ditch, where he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The SUV driver, identified as 77-year-old Linda Joyce Moncrief, was also pronounced dead. Officials believe she experienced a medical episode prior to the initial crash. Another male passenger from the SUV was airlifted to the University of Kentucky hospital with injuries, though his condition remains undisclosed.
Kentucky State Police are actively investigating the incident. Further updates will be provided as new information becomes available.
