Officials have provided the identity of the man who was killed after being shot in the area surrounding the Dash-In convenience store located in Waldorf. According to reports from the Charles County Sheriff’s Office, the deceased is identified as 31-year-old Charles Arlando Hamilton.

The fatal shooting incident started in the parking lot of the Westlake Dash-In, a gas station and convenience store, at roughly 15 minutes after the midnight hour on October 29th.

Investigators from the CCSO reported that a suspect opened fire in the parking lot, targeting two men who were standing close to the fuel pumps. Hamilton, the identified victim, succumbed to his injuries immediately at the scene.

The other individual involved in the shooting was airlifted to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The tragic event resulted in a significant police presence being stationed on Smallwood Drive in the early morning hours following the incident.

As authorities continue their probe, deputies are working to gather additional evidence and piece together the sequence of events that led to the shooting.
