Fatal Leon Springs hit and run death of Jose Rocha – Obituary.
The victim of a tragic hit and run incident in the far Northwest Side has been confirmed as 63-year-old Jose Rocha. The Medical Examiner’s Office reported his identity following the fatal collision that occurred early Monday morning around 1:50 AM, near I-10 and Boerne Stage Road.
According to the San Antonio Police Department, Rocha, along with a woman, was attempting to push their disabled vehicle off the highway when they were struck by a truck that then fled the scene. Authorities managed to track down the driver of the truck with the assistance of the female victim, leading to an arrest for Failure to Stop and Render Aid/Death.
Emergency Medical Services pronounced Rocha dead at the site of the accident, while the woman was transported to a local hospital and is currently in stable condition.
