Fatal Delaware motorcycle crash death of Taylor Guyer – Obituary.
Authorities have identified Taylor Guyer, a 26-year-old resident of Douglassville, as the victim of a tragic motorcycle accident that occurred on Interstate 95 South in New Castle County, Delaware, on Sunday, September 22. According to the Delaware State Police, Guyer was riding a Honda CBR 1000RR motorcycle when the crash took place just north of Basin Road.
Reports indicate that Guyer was riding behind a group of fellow motorcyclists and accelerated to catch up. However, he eventually passed the group when the motorcycle’s rear tire locked up, causing him to skid and fall onto its right side. Despite wearing a helmet, Guyer was ejected from the motorcycle and sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
The southbound lanes of I-95 were closed for about five hours as the Delaware State Police Troop 2 Collision Reconstruction Unit investigated the incident. The investigation is still ongoing, and authorities are seeking witnesses to the crash. They encourage anyone with information to contact Corporal D. Guyer’s community is mourning his sudden loss, with a GoFundMe campaign launched in his memory that has raised over $6,000 of its $20,000 goal. Friends and family described him as a passionate motorcyclist who always shared his knowledge and advice with new riders. He is survived by his mother, two brothers, cousins, and his girlfriend.
A Celebration of Life and memorial ride for Taylor is scheduled for Saturday, October 5. The ride will start at 9 a.m. at the Wawa located at 120 Schuylkill Road in Phoenixville and conclude at the Norco Fire Company in Pottstown, where the Celebration of Life will begin at 10 a.m.
