Fatal Lonoke County car crash death of Agueda Carrillo Mata – Obituary
Agueda Carrillo Mata, 53, of Batesville, tragically lost her life in a fiery crash early Sunday morning in Lonoke County, Arkansas. The accident occurred on September 29 at 12:28 a.m. on U.S. Highway 67 North, according to Arkansas State Police.
Mata was a passenger in a 2024 Dodge Ram that was parked on the shoulder of the highway when a northbound semi-truck struck the vehicle. The semi’s fuel tank ruptured, igniting both vehicles in flames. The impact forced the Ram into a ditch, causing it to roll and ejecting its passengers.
Mata died at the scene, while other passengers, including 54-year-old Jose Salsas de la Cruz, Miguel Angel Salas Carillo, and an unidentified minor, were taken to UAMS with injuries. Authorities have not yet released information about the condition of the semi-truck driver.
