The collision occurred on September 18 around 5:15 PM, involving Layzell’s Yamaha R125, a delivery van, and a Mercedes AMG. Despite the swift response of emergency services, Layzell was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Mercedes, a woman in her 60s, escaped unharmed. Meanwhile, a 49-year-old man from Kettering, who was behind the wheel of the delivery van, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving but has since been released on bail pending further investigation, which is scheduled to continue until December 15. Authorities are encouraging anyone with information or relevant dashcam footage to contact the police.
