The Yuba County Sheriff’s Department has confirmed that Donn Moore, a 22-year-old from Browns Valley, was killed in an officer-involved shooting following a police pursuit. The incident occurred on the night of September 24 when a deputy attempted to stop Moore’s vehicle along Marysville Road, close to Shadowbrook Trail.
Moore reportedly fled, leading law enforcement on a chase that lasted approximately 30 minutes until his truck became disabled near the 2600 block of Highway 20. During the encounter, authorities allege that Moore fired shots from his vehicle, prompting officers to return fire. Moore was pronounced dead at the scene.
The deputies involved in the shooting have been placed on administrative leave as part of standard procedure. The investigation into the incident is still ongoing.
