The victim has been identified as 68-year-old Aniela Kowalczyk, a local resident. According to the Virginia State Police (VSP), the accident occurred on Route 460 near Scotts Farm Road, where Kowalczyk was crossing the roadway wearing dark-colored clothing.
Initial reports indicate that a car traveling east on Route 460 first struck Kowalczyk, after which she was hit by two additional vehicles. Fortunately, no injuries were reported among the drivers involved in the crash, all of whom remained at the scene. The VSP is currently conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding this tragic accident.
