The coroner’s office has confirmed the identity of the victim involved in a tragic accident on October 4, 2024, on U.S. Highway 15. Chris L. Kitt, a 32-year-old resident of St. George, was driving a Chevrolet sedan when the crash occurred around 4:29 p.m.
The incident involved Kitt’s vehicle colliding with another car before crashing into a dump truck. Kitt was pronounced dead at the scene, while the drivers of the other vehicles were unharmed. A passenger in Kitt’s vehicle was taken to a local hospital for treatment. The South Carolina Highway Patrol and the coroner’s office are conducting an ongoing investigation into the circumstances of the collision.
