Fatal Beauregard shooting death of Darrian Finley – Obituary
A shooting at a gathering on Lee Road 11 in the Beauregard community on Saturday night resulted in one man’s death and another man being hospitalized.
According to the Lee County Coroner’s Office, 34-year-old Darrian Finley of Opelika was declared dead at the scene at 9:55 p.m. CT on October 5, 2024. His body has been sent to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences in Montgomery for an autopsy.
The second victim, whose identity has yet to be revealed, was airlifted to a local hospital for emergency care, and their condition remains undisclosed.
Lee County Sheriff Jay Jones informed WRBL that the shooting followed an argument at the party. A firearm was recovered from the scene, and investigators believe this incident was isolated, posing no threat to the broader community.
The investigation is being led by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, which is actively seeking to uncover the details surrounding the shooting. No suspects have been identified, and no arrests have been made at this time.
