Fatal Berks County motorcycle crash death of Mikael A. Nihart – Obituary
Mikael A. Nihart, a 25-year-old man from Pottstown, Pennsylvania, passed away on Monday, November 11, 2024, at Reading Hospital, two days after a motorcycle crash on Route 724 in eastern Berks County. Nihart was critically injured early on Saturday morning when his motorcycle collided with a deer while traveling westbound on Route 724 near Red Corner Road.
After striking the deer, Nihart lost control of his motorcycle and was thrown into a guardrail, resulting in severe trauma, including the partial amputation of one of his legs. He was rushed to the hospital but was later pronounced dead at 10:15 p.m. on Monday due to multiple injuries. The incident marks the second motorcycle fatality in Berks County this year caused by a deer collision and the 10th motorcycle fatality in the county in 2024. The Berks County Coroner’s Office ruled the death as accidental.
