An off-duty police officer was involved in a deadly shooting in Fort Lauderdale on Wednesday, according to officials.
The officer, identified as Lieutenant Jonathon Bohm, reportedly fired at Damian Orozco at Yacht Haven Park and Marina. Police communications reveal Bohm claimed Orozco was armed, though he admitted he did not see a weapon.
Orozco was transported to a hospital but succumbed to his injuries.
This incident marks the third fatal police-involved shooting in the area this month.
