A tragic accident occurred Friday evening in Cass County, leading to the death of 60-year-old Michael Jasper of Niles.
The Cass County Sheriff’s Office reported that Jasper was traveling west on Bell Road near Ironwood Drive when his vehicle left the road and crashed into a tree.
He was initially taken to a Niles hospital and later transferred to South Bend, where he was pronounced dead. Authorities noted that Jasper was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. The cause of the incident is still under investigation.
