Odenis Balladares Martinez dies in fatal Taconic Parkway car crash
Fatal Taconic Parkway car crash death of Odenis Balladares Martinez – Obituary
Odenis Balladares Martinez, 20, from Neptune, New Jersey, was one of three people from Monmouth County killed in a devastating two-vehicle collision on the Taconic State Parkway in New York on Wednesday night. According to New York State Police, the van they were in crossed into another lane, collided with a Honda, flipped over, and burst into flames.
The other victims in the van were identified as Harrison Mauricio Reyes Rivera, 34, of Long Branch, and Bryan Aguilar Castillo, 45, of Asbury Park. All three were declared deceased at the scene.
The Honda driver, Rob Violante of Granite Springs, New York, who was reportedly returning home from his coaching duties at Bergenfield High School in New Jersey, was taken to the hospital but later passed away due to his injuries.
Yader A. Reyes, 50, of Long Branch, who was driving the van, survived and remains in critical condition at Westchester Medical Center.
Investigators are continuing to examine the circumstances leading up to the crash. Authorities have asked any witnesses or individuals with information to contact the New York State Police at (845) 677-7300.
