Fatal Southeast D.C. shooting death of Calvin Moore – Obituary

A man has lost his life following an early morning shooting on Thursday in Southeast Washington, D.C. The incident occurred around 1:45 a.m. at the intersection of First and Atlantic Streets.

Few details have been released, but police report that the victim, identified as 36-year-old Calvin Moore, was found unresponsive by officers who responded to the scene.

First responders transported Moore to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

At this time, no arrests have been made, and authorities have not disclosed any information regarding potential suspects or motives. The circumstances leading to the shooting remain unclear.

Shortly after this incident, DC Police were called to another shooting on the 1400 block of Park Road Northwest, about 15 minutes later.

There, they discovered a woman who had been shot but was conscious and breathing. She was taken to the hospital and is expected to recover from her injuries, which are not considered life-threatening.

These incidents contribute to a night of heightened violence in the District. On Tuesday, DC Police also responded to two separate shootings that resulted in six people being shot, with one fatality.

In those cases, investigators are searching for a silver Jeep Cherokee.
