The driver, a 16-year-old, along with two other passengers, fled the scene on foot and were picked up by a family member who transported them to San Jose. Authorities arrested the driver on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter and felony hit-and-run, though the other passengers were not taken into custody.
Investigators are working to determine whether drugs or alcohol played a role in this tragic crash.

Moments later, shots were fired, fatally striking Urbina-Betancourt.
Witness accounts and collected evidence led police to identify 28-year-old Luigin Alberto Perez-Millan as the suspect. Detectives stated that Perez-Millan began firing for reasons yet to be determined, aiming at both Urbina-Betancourt and the other individual involved in the dispute. The second person was unharmed and later identified Perez-Millan during a police photo lineup.
On December 28, U.S. Marshals and Nebraska State Police apprehended Perez-Millan during a traffic stop in Seward County, Nebraska, roughly 620 miles from the shooting site. He was taken into custody without incident and faces charges of murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Perez-Millan remains in Nebraska awaiting extradition to Texas.
Authorities have not discovered any prior connection between Perez-Millan and Urbina-Betancourt, nor evidence of interaction between them before the shooting.

Both motorcyclists had been traveling north along New Freedom Road, with the crash occurring near the 100 block. Authorities have not yet determined whether the accidents began on or off the road or what led to the crashes.
The Lindenwold Police Department, in coordination with the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office, is continuing the investigation.

The accident occurred around 12:30 a.m. when Engle’s vehicle veered off the right shoulder of the ramp, entered a grassy area, and collided with a road sign and two trees, according to state police. Engle was transported to a nearby hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
