A tragic single-vehicle accident claimed the life of 45-year-old Mark E. Patterson from Wetumpka on Friday evening, November 1. The crash occurred around 6:16 p.m. when Patterson’s 2014 Ford F150 left the roadway and traveled onto private property before overturning into a ravine. Authorities reported that he was not wearing a seatbelt at the time and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The incident transpired while Patterson was being pursued by a deputy from the Autauga County Sheriff’s Office, alongside officers from the Millbrook Police Department. The crash took place on private land close to the Interstate 65 Service Road and Real Life Church, situated approximately three miles north of Montgomery in Elmore County. The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Highway Patrol Division is currently conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident.
