Fatal Russellville two-vehicle crash death of Seth I. Jones – Obituary

On November 12, 2024, at approximately 10:15 a.m., 42-year-old Seth I. Jones from Ripley was involved in a fatal crash on US 62 near milepost 19 in the Village of Russellville. According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Jones, driving a 2017 Chevrolet Spark southbound, swerved to avoid a United States Postal vehicle delivering mail, crossing into the northbound lane. His vehicle collided head-on with a 2015 Kenworth T800, driven by 52-year-old Shane W. Davis from Lynchburg. Jones sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, while Davis was unharmed. Authorities confirmed that Jones was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
