Police in Cary confirmed Tuesday that Erica Alyse Holton, 54, her 19-year-old son Xavier Neil Holton, and his girlfriend Aminah Michelle Guy, also 19, were all fatally shot inside a home in the 100 block of Smokemont Drive. The discovery was made around 3 p.m. Monday when officers responded to the residence in the Linville Ridge neighborhood.
The victims were identified as a mother, her son, and his girlfriend, with police clarifying that Xavier and Aminah were in a relationship. In a statement, authorities said they had accounted for all individuals connected to the case and assured the public that there was no ongoing danger to the community.
The incident, currently classified as a death investigation, remains under review. Police have withheld further details at this time, pending the results of autopsies to be conducted by the North Carolina Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
