Fatal Carmichael rooftop standoff shooting death of Israel David Price – Obituary.
Sacramento County authorities have identified Israel David Price, 24, as the man fatally shot during a standoff with sheriff’s deputies in Carmichael last week. The incident began late on November 12 when Price, following an argument with his roommates at their apartment on Moraga Way, reportedly fired gunshots inside the residence.
Deputies responded to the scene at approximately 11:40 p.m., but Price, armed with a revolver, fled before they could detain him. Hours later, he was located on the roof of a home in the 6800 block of Ashfield Way. Despite attempts by negotiators to de-escalate the situation, Price fired at deputies. Three members of the sheriff’s tactical team returned fire, killing him around 3:40 a.m. on November 13.
The involved deputies have been placed on administrative leave pending investigations by the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office and the District Attorney’s Office. The incident prompted a multi-agency search that included law enforcement teams from Citrus Heights, Roseville, and Placer County.
No injuries were reported among deputies or neighbors during the incident.
