Andrew Slagle, a 25-year-old volunteer firefighter with the Slate Hill Fire Department, lost his life in a tragic accident on Sunday afternoon, November 17, in Wantage Township, New Jersey.
According to the New Jersey State Police, Slagle was driving a Chevy passenger van northbound on State Highway 284 when he veered off the roadway, struck multiple trees, and overturned the vehicle.
Slagle, who lived in Westtown, was widely admired for his humor, selflessness, and his ability to connect with others. The Slate Hill Fire Department shared a heartfelt tribute, asking for prayers for Slagle’s family, his girlfriend Maddie, and fellow firefighters.
Assemblyman Karl Brabenec also expressed his condolences, praising Andrew’s dedication to service and the joy he brought to those who knew him.
