Ivan Ayala Garcia dies in fatal Arlington police shooting

Fatal Arlington police shooting death of Ivan Ayala Garcia – Obituary.

Ivan Ayala Garcia, 34, was fatally shot by Arlington police early Wednesday morning during an incident at a Motel 6 near AT&T Stadium. Authorities say they responded to a disturbance call at around 1 a.m., where they found Ayala Garcia in a physical altercation with another man. Ayala Garcia was armed with a knife, and despite repeated orders from officers to drop the weapon, he continued to fight. Police fired their weapons, striking Ayala Garcia, who was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

The other man involved in the fight sustained injuries and was treated and released from the hospital. Police confirmed that the two men did not know each other. No officers were injured in the incident.

Following standard procedure, the two officers involved were placed on administrative leave while both criminal and internal investigations are conducted.
